Dave Coulier, the actor best known for his role as Uncle Joey in “Full House,” has announced he has stage 3 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
The 65-year-old said he suffered from an upper respiratory infection that caused major swelling in his lymph nodes. He told People that the infection led to his diagnosis.
“Three days later, my doctors called me back and they said, ‘We wish we had better news for you, but you have non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and it’s called B cell and it’s very aggressive,’” he told the outlet.
In a bit of good news, Coulier told People his bone marrow test came back negative.
“At that point, my chances of curable went from something low to 90% range. And so that was a great day,” he said.

Coulier also talked about the diagnosis in an episode of his podcast, “Full House Rewind,” released early Wednesday morning.
He spoke about the diagnosis with actress Marla Sokoloff, who played Gia on the original show and the Netflix reboot. He also announced her as his new permanent co-host in the episode.
People revealed that he shared he started chemotherapy two weeks after getting the diagnosis, and has already completed the first of six chemo treatments.
“I have my good days. I have my bad days,” he said. “Some days are nauseous and dizzy, and then there’s other days where the steroids kick in, and I feel like I have a ton of energy. I actually skated yesterday with some friends here in Detroit. We just went and skated around and shot pucks, and it was wonderful just to be out there doing something that I love and just trying to stay focused on all the great stuff that I have in my life.”
